Their Story
Nawab and Zehra are both from families that have lived in Hyderabad's old city for seven generations — families that the city knows, that the city has always known. They met at a mushaira at Chowmahalla Palace in 2021, introduced by a poet they both admired. Nawab recited a verse he hadn't planned. Zehra told him afterward it was the wrong metre. He spent six months studying before speaking to her again. She had been waiting.
