Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites function properly, improve user experience, and provide information to site owners.

Wowzey uses a minimal set of cookies and browser storage. We do not use advertising tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies. This policy explains exactly what we use and why.

Session authentication cookie (httpOnly, Secure)

Name: wowzey_session

Purpose: Keeps you logged in between page visits. This is a strictly necessary cookie — the service cannot function without it for authenticated users.

Duration: 30 days (rolling). Deleted immediately when you log out.

This cookie is httpOnly (cannot be read by JavaScript) and Secure (only sent over HTTPS). It is a first-party cookie set by wowzey.com.

In addition to the session cookie, Wowzey uses browser local storage for a few functional purposes. Local storage is not transmitted to our servers — it exists only in your browser:

• Remote config cache — stores site configuration (feature flags, pricing display) fetched from our API. Expires after 1 hour. This avoids a network request on every page load.
• Experience builder draft — saves your in-progress experience so you can continue later without losing work. Cleared when you publish or delete the draft.
• OTP channel preference — remembers whether you prefer WhatsApp or SMS for login verification so you do not need to select it each time.
• Auth token — stores your short-lived access token (15-minute expiry) so you remain logged in within a browser session. The token is signed and validated server-side on every API request.

On the Free plan only, we show advertisements in your creator dashboard and after AI generation. These ads are served by Google AdMob. AdMob may set its own cookies and use device identifiers to serve relevant ads.

AdMob cookies are third-party cookies subject to Google's Privacy Policy. They collect anonymised signals such as device type, approximate location, and ad interaction data.

AdMob cookies apply only to logged-in Free-plan creators. They are never loaded for:

• Recipients who open experience links (public experience pages)
• Visitors browsing the marketing site
• Users on any paid plan

You can opt out of personalised ads:

• iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track"
• Android: Settings → Google → Ads → enable "Opt out of Ads Personalisation"
• Upgrade to any paid plan — this completely stops AdMob from loading on your account.

• We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics cookies.
• We do not use Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or any social media tracking pixels.
• We do not track users across other websites.
• We do not sell cookie data or personal data derived from cookies to third parties.
• We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles outside of the AdMob integration described above (Free plan only).

The strictly necessary session cookie is exempt from consent requirements under applicable law, as the service cannot function without it for authenticated users.

For AdMob cookies (Free plan only), by using the Free plan you consent to ad-related cookies as described in our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. You can withdraw this consent at any time by upgrading to a paid plan.

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Here are links to instructions for major browsers:

Note: deleting the session cookie will log you out of Wowzey. Deleting local storage will clear your builder drafts and preferences.

We may update this Cookie Policy. We will notify registered users of material changes via SMS or in-app notification at least 7 days before the change takes effect.
