    What makes this template special

    Clean grid layout

A disciplined grid system that looks designed, not default — every element has a reason for being exactly where it is.

    Line-draw geometric accent

A small Islamic geometric pattern draws itself in gold on page load — enough to signal the tradition, restrained enough to feel modern.

    Navy and gold authority

Deep navy and gold is the combination of institutions and important occasions — government letterheads and black tie events. Your Nikkah belongs in that company.

    Montserrat bold clarity

Montserrat is the typeface of startups that became billion-dollar companies. On a Modern Islamic invitation, it says: this couple knows exactly what they want.

    Professional RSVP section

The RSVP section is clean, digital-first, and works perfectly for professional guest lists — LinkedIn contacts, office colleagues, extended diaspora networks.

    Free for all tiers

Modern Islamic is available on the Free plan. The corporate aesthetic, at no cost.

    Mobile experience

Built phone-first, since most guests open wedding invitations on mobile. Animations, fonts, and the RSVP form are all sized and paced for a smooth one-thumb experience.

Is Modern Islamic right for your wedding?

Modern Islamic reads best for a Nikah held indoors — a banquet hall, hotel function room, or community centre — rather than an outdoor mandap, because the navy-and-gold grid holds its contrast under fluorescent event lighting and on a projector screen just as well as on a phone. It particularly suits couples whose guest list spans professional colleagues, extended networks abroad, and relatives who may not share deep familiarity with more ornate Islamic motifs: the clean geometry signals the occasion clearly without asking guests to decode calligraphy or iconography first.

The palette is deliberately non-denominational — there is no crescent, no specific script, just a disciplined navy field and a single gold accent — which makes it comfortable for Sunni and Shia families alike, and for weddings with a mixed or interfaith guest list. Because the Montserrat headings are bold, wide, and geometric, keep the hero to first names only; save fathers' names, wali details, and honorifics for the family section further down the page, where the smaller, denser body type carries them more gracefully.

Since Modern Islamic ships on the Free plan with the standard Mendhi/Mayoun, Nikah, and Walima sequence already in place, couples often use it as a first draft — publish it early to lock in a shareable link, then decide later whether a heavier, more animated template suits the Walima reception better once venue and guest-count details are confirmed.

    Frequently asked questions

Should the invitation say 'Nikah' or 'Nikkah', and how formal should the wording be?+

Both spellings are used interchangeably across India and Pakistan; 'Nikah' is the more standard transliteration and reads slightly more formal, which suits this template's professional tone. Keep the core line simple — the couple's names, a request for the guest's presence at the Nikah, date, time, and venue — and save elaborate duas or Arabic verses for a printed card if you also have one.

Do we need separate invitations for the Nikah and the Walima?+

Not necessarily — many families put both on one link with two separate event cards and separate RSVP toggles, which is exactly how Modern Islamic is set up by default. Some families do send the Walima invite to a wider circle than the Nikah, in which case a second, shorter link limited to the Walima card works well.

Is Modern Islamic really free, or is there a catch?+

It's on Wowzey's Free plan — you can build, publish, and share it without entering payment details. Free-plan templates carry the full core feature set; Premium templates add extras like heavier animation styles, higher guest-list limits, and custom domains.

Can guests RSVP to the Nikah and Walima separately if they're only attending one?+

Yes — each ceremony event on the page has its own RSVP control, so a guest attending only the Walima can decline the Nikah slot and confirm the reception without any back-and-forth messaging.
