Traditional Mandap is built around the actual ceremony rather than the reception — the mandap arch, the lotus, the garlands. It works best for couples having a Vedic, priest-officiated wedding centred on the mandap itself, whether that's inside a temple hall, a banquet space with a constructed mandap, or a home courtyard set up for the occasion. If your wedding is organised primarily around the Saptapadi and a defined muhurat rather than a multi-day festival of standalone parties, this template's tone matches that focus.
The motifs are drawn straight from the ceremony. The lotus is one of the oldest auspicious symbols in Hindu iconography, tied to purity and new beginnings, which is why it's used as the opening animation rather than a background flourish. Marigold and saffron are the flowers actually used in the puja and the jaimala (garland) exchange, and the illustrated garland dividers are a direct nod to that exchange rather than generic floral decoration.
Playfair Display's classical serif reads like a temple notice board or a printed shubh vivah card, which is deliberate — it's paired with Lato for the body copy so venue, date, and timing details stay easy to read on a phone even though the headings carry more weight. If your ceremony includes a Griha Pravesh or an Engagement function beyond the standard six, you can add it as a seventh event without disrupting the layout.

Is Traditional Mandap only for weddings held at a temple?+
No — it works for any Vedic, priest-led ceremony centred on a mandap, whether that mandap is built inside a temple hall, a banquet venue, or a home courtyard. The temple-inspired typography and lotus motif reflect the ceremony's tone, not a requirement that the wedding physically happen at a temple.
Should the invitation mention the muhurat (auspicious time) or just a general start time?+
If your family has fixed a muhurat with a priest, it's worth stating it precisely rather than rounding it — many North Indian Hindu weddings expect guests for the Pheras to arrive close to that exact time, unlike a reception where arrival is more flexible. You can list the muhurat time alongside the general venue timing in the Wedding Ceremony event card.
