How to Create a Wedding Website in 10 Minutes

You don't need a web designer or a developer to create a beautiful wedding website. Here is the step-by-step guide to going from zero to a live, shareable wedding website in under 10 minutes.

What You Need Before You Start

Creating a wedding website takes about 10 minutes if you have these things ready:

    • Your wedding date and venue name (even if the full address isn't confirmed)
    • Both your names as they should appear
    • 1–3 photos of the two of you (pre-wedding shoot photos are ideal)
    • A short paragraph about your story (optional but makes the site feel personal)
    • Your email address to create an account

Step 1: Choose Your Platform (2 Minutes)

Several platforms make wedding websites quick to set up. Look for one that:

    • Is mobile-optimised (most guests will view on a phone)
    • Has built-in RSVP functionality
    • Supports multiple events (essential for multi-day Indian weddings)
    • Lets you password-protect the site for privacy
    • Has Indian-aesthetic templates — not just Western floral designs

Wowzey's wedding website feature is designed specifically for Indian weddings, with templates that support multi-event structures, Haldi-to-Reception scheduling, and RSVP tracking built in.

    Step 2: Pick a Template (1 Minute)

Choose a template that matches your wedding aesthetic. Most couples pick based on colour palette:

    • Royal gold and red — perfect for traditional Hindu or Sikh weddings
    • Ivory and blush — for garden or destination weddings
    • Teal and gold — a popular choice for Muslim weddings
    • Modern minimal — for contemporary couples who prefer clean design

Step 3: Add Your Details (4 Minutes)

Fill in each section of the template:

    • Cover page: Your names, wedding date, a hero photo
    • Our Story: A short paragraph about how you met (2–3 sentences is enough)
    • Events: Each ceremony with date, time, venue, and Google Maps link
    • Travel: Nearest airport/station, recommended hotels
    • RSVP: Set your deadline and any questions you want to ask (meal preference, number of guests)

Step 4: Upload Photos (1 Minute)

Add 3–5 photos to bring your site to life. Pre-wedding shoot photos work best — they are professionally lit and emotionally resonant. If you don't have professional photos yet, even a couple of nice candid shots are better than placeholders.

Compress your images before uploading — large files slow down page load time, and slow pages frustrate guests on mobile data.

Step 5: Set Up RSVP (1 Minute)

    Configure your RSVP form with:

    • RSVP deadline date
    • Questions you want answered (dietary restrictions? Number of guests?)
    • Confirmation message guests see after submitting
    • Email or WhatsApp notifications when someone RSVPs

Step 6: Publish and Share (1 Minute)

Hit publish. Your site is live. Now:

    • Share the link in your wedding WhatsApp group
    • Include the URL on your digital invitation
    • Add it to your save the dates
    • Consider a custom URL like "meera-and-vikram.wowzey.in" instead of a long random URL

    Post-Launch Tips

    • Check your RSVP dashboard weekly — follow up with non-responders 2 weeks before your deadline
    • Update the site if venue or timing changes — post an announcement banner at the top
    • Add a countdown timer if your platform supports it — guests love watching the days tick down
    • After the wedding, upload your official photos and keep the site live as a digital memory book
